In a statement circulating in Pakistan, Shaikh voiced support for Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir’s assumption of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) role. He also cited a recent fatwa issued by clerics from Pakistan-administered Kashmir and Afghanistan, which accuses Kabul of allowing anti-Pakistan militant networks to function freely within its territory.

Shaikh warned that if the Afghan government continues to permit activities that threaten Pakistan’s internal security, LeT is willing to join hands with the Pakistani military in carrying out operations against such groups.
